The beginning of Nokia company is in 1865, when mining ingeneer, Fredrik Idestam established in south-west Finland wood process company. In the other place in Finland arisen Finnish Rubber Company in 1898 and in 1912 Finnish Cable Company. Shares in those two companies and in Nokia little by little got on to small group of propertiors. Finally in 1967 those three companies was mergered and established in Nokia Corporation. In the beggining of eightieths Nokia substantiated its position in telecommunicate and electronics market, by took over companies Mobira, Selora, Teleta and Swiss - Luxor. In 1987 Nokia took over from German company Standard Elektrik Lorenz subsidiary of electronics production and French electronics firm - Occeanic. The same year Nokia bought Swiss cable factory - Maillefer. In late eightieths Nokia Corporation took over from Ericsson company data processing subsidiary and became the largest informatics company in Scandinavia. In 1989 Nokia took over Dutch company NFK, thereby improved its position on cable production market. In the beginning of ninetieths Nokia focused on the most important area - telecommunication. Company sold all its informatics departments. |
